Abstract
I will discuss our recent theoretical work on multiband superfluidity and the superfluid to band insulator transition of ultracold fermionic superfluids in optical lattices. We will then turn to a single band Hubbard model which is appropriate in the deep lattice limit and discuss how superflow breaks down via dynamical instabilities associated with competing charge ordered states. Finally, I will present arguments for flow induced supersolid order in cases where longer range interactions may be present, such as in dipolar superfluids.
